Premier  launch  development centre for Burgess Hill FC

 

The centre opened  on 14 September 2015 at the Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford.

The Burgess Hill Development Centre (Seaford )- in partnership with Premier - works with local players age 13 to 17 who have the potential to play competitive football to at least County and Ryman level.

 

The overall outcome is to generate high quality local football talent that can help improve the success of senior clubs in the area and realise the potential of young people who can go a lot further and play at Ryman and even full professional level. Over time we would expect all of the development squad players to also train as local coaches and work in schools and with clubs.

The centre is open to any player who meet the standards irrespective of which club they currently play in. Training will be once a week in Seaford, with competitive matches against other development squads and academies. The training will be carried out by senior and FA qualified coaches including Burgess Hill staff.

Around 30 players from local clubs are currently part of the development centre. In 2017 the development centre will also offer players aged 16 -18 the opportunity to attend one of it's football and education academies in Sussex.
